“The need of consuming 400 micrograms of folic acid every day through fortified foods, supplements, or both in addition to a folate-rich diet to prevent serious birth defects is a recommended for all women, mostly for those younger women at ages of 18-24 years” also known as neural tube defects. that affect the spinal cord and brain, says a CDC news release.
These Folic acid is in many mineral supplements and vitamin. B-vitamin ( Folate ), which is the natural form of folic acid can be find in leafy green vegetables such as turnip greens and spinach, also in beef liver and black-eyed peas.
